St Regulus Hall Committee Elections

1 Introduction

Fancy the opportunity to hold responsibility, make decisions and serve your people?

The student committee representing St Regulus Hall is looking for motivated individuals to bolster the squad.

If you’ve seen us in action, thought “I could do better than those clowns” and are prepared to spend several hours a week improving your hall community, sign yourself up below.

2 Open Positions

We are electing the following:

2.1 First-Year Representatives

  • one for each disjoint gender set.nominally Female; Male; Non-Binary (if applicable)
  • colloquial term: “freshers rep”
  • facilitate communication between (including, but not limited to) first-year residents and the committeecommunication including polls; questionaires; talking to other hall residents; other methods
  • assist in the successful execution of major committee-run hall events

2.2 Sports Representatives

  • one for each disjoint gender set.nominally Female; Male; Non-Binary (if applicable)
  • colloquial term: “sports rep”
  • organise inter-hall sports teams and intra-hall sporting events
  • responsible for upkeep of committee’s sporting equipment, including those in the Games Room
  • assist in the successful execution of major committee-run hall events

2.3 Publicity Representative

  • one only: gender irrelevant
  • post regular updates to the hall social media channels, including multimedia posts
  • maintain the hall website and mailing list
  • assist in the successful execution of major committee-run hall events

2.4 Female Wellbeing Representative

  • be point of contact for all students
  • be willing to actively listen to any concerns or worries and act accordingly
  • attend sexual health training from NHS Fife
  • distribute sexual health products in line with training guidance
  • behave in kind and trusting manner, upholding confidentiality and treating matters with due sensitivity
  • work together with male wellbeing representative on wellbeing issues and events
  • assist in the successful execution of major committee-run hall events
  • please note we recognise you are a student: not a trained professional healthcare worker

3 Procedure

  • Nominations open Monday Evening 23:59
  • A person can nominate themselves for at most one position only
  • Nominations submitted via online form found here
  • Potential Candidates requested to answer some questions with written long-form answers
  • Nominations close Friday Evening 23:59
  • Candidates’ answers made public
  • Electronic Voting opens Saturday Morning 12:01 AM
  • Saturday 14:00 — 16:00: candidates congregate in Garden across from Main Building
  • Candidates can field questions; depending on number of nominees they can choose to give a short speech
  • Voting system closes Saturday Evening 23:59 PM
  • Results announced Sunday Morning
